Mara I am shocked how much you have changed in the last two weeks.
Weight: We just went to your two month appointment. I didn't get the exact measurements but she was in the 75th percentile for weight, 60th percentile for length and 70th percentile for head circumference. You are definitely tipping the scales in that regard.
Health: You are a different baby these past few weeks. You still get gas but boy has it gotten better. I am so happy I cut out the dairy. It seems like that was the issue all along.
This week you got two vaccinations. We decided to spread out your vaccinations and I'm so glad we did. Although you did so well it broke my heart to hear you cry when they stuck the needle in your little leg. After a minute you were unfazed. You had no leg tenderness or fever.
The doctor also gave you a clean bill of health at your appointment. He was impressed with your even temperament and how you let him poke and prod you. You are doing perfectly!!
Social: You have really started to become vocal these two weeks. You coo and have recently been making a sound that sounds like the start of a giggle. You still grunt but now you are "talking" more than grunting.
Your smiles have increased and you give them out with even the slightest encouragement. You are also now tracking objects and people. You will follow mommy as she walks out the room.
Although you are still a wiggle gus flailing your arms and legs, you will now sit with us as we relax on the couch in the evening. You used to have to be up and moving but now will sit on either of our laps for hours. (Daddy loves this)
Diet: You are still breast feeding. Now that I am dairy free you seem to be doing a whole lot better. We rarely use a bottle and mama has gotten behind on pumping.

You love your jumper although you don't 'jump' quite yet |

All dressed up |
Clothes: Although you still have some of your 0 to 3 month clothes in your dresser, your 3 month outfits fit you the best. I have noticed that your diapers don't need to be snapped as tightly either. I'm hoping you'll stay in your 3 month clothes for at least long enough to wear them all before I have to get out your 3 to 6 month.
Happy Baby |
Mama's Favorites: I am still all about the baby carriers this week. You do not like to nap unless you are on mama. These past few weeks have been super busy and I wouldn't have gotten as much done without them.
Buddy came to check you out |
Crying: You have developed a bit of a personality in this department. You now have certain cries for when you're bored, want to be picked up and are just angry. You stick out your little lip and its seriously the cutest thing. Overall though you are still great in this department.
Sleep: Your sleep has gotten WAY better. You are now sleeping longer stretches at night although you still sleep less and less as the morning comes. Recently you slept 7 hours straight. I had to check the clock twice before I believed it. You are now consistently sleeping at least 5 which makes me so happy. I've started thinking about transitioning you to your own room for the first stretch of the night and may try to around the first of the year.
Loving the hair bow |
This Week: You are a different baby this week. The dairy must have been really affecting you. You are no longer fussy and are full of smiles. We've gotten so many compliments on how good you are. You love laying on your back (especially on your changing table) and talking with us. You were great during your first Thanksgiving and slept through the whole meal. Tomorrow you are going to meet Santa and I am excited to see how you do with it.
Baby Likes: You love bathtime this week. You are still unsure about it at first but scream when we take you out of the water. You like to be talked to and love kicking the toys in your baby gym. You have also discovered Buddy and love looking at him. I think you are going to LOVE him once you get a bit bigger.
Santa Baby |
Milestones: You almost always roll to your right side when we lay you down now. I am still waiting for that moment when you figure out how to get the rest of the way over. You have also been trying to sit up lately. When I prop you up in your boppy you are no longer satisfied. You try to sit up. Of course you don't get very far but I can see that you're trying.
You are now reaching for toys and holding on to them. You aren't too interested in them yet and would rather look at the world around you. You have discovered your hands and try to suck on them when you want to feed. You haven't fully grasped how to get them in your mouth but you sure try!
You are getting more and more into a routine. You wake up around 9 and go down for your morning nap by 10 at the latest. Then you have your noon nap and early afternoon nap. You also go down for bed at ten at the latest. We really didn't do anything to set this schedule. You just kind of fell into it.
Best of Times: Seeing my happy little girl emerge. I knew there was a content little girl under all that fussiness. I'm so happy we figured out that dairy was giving you problems.
Worst of Times: There really hasn't been any that stick out in my mind. You have had your fussy days and nights I wish you would have gotten more sleep but nothing to major.
